the bones in your head

The frontal bone is located right at the front of head and it corresponds with the region known as your forehead. The main purpose of this bone is to protect the brain and support for the face.

The two parietal bones are connected and make up the sides and the roof of the skull. They are also used as protection for the brain and support the face.

The temporal bones are placed on the bases and sides of the skull, parallel to the parietal bones. The primary functions of the temporal bones are protection of the brain and support of the face, specifically the temples.

The occipital bone is the curvy shaped bone that is located near the base of your skull. Like all the cranial bones, it supports your head, especially the back of your head and gives protection to the brain.

The sphenoid bone is located right behind your eye socket and at the base of your skull. This bone is a wedge-like bone located in front of the temporal bone and is one of several bones that form the eye socket.

The ethmoid bone is located between the two eye sockets and at the top of the nose. The main function of this bone is to support the nose and the eye sockets.

These bones make up your skull and help protect your brain. If we did not have them, if you got hit in the head you would have injuries right away
