You might think that the sense of touch is all one sense that senses heat, pain, and pressure. However, there are actually multiple nerve endings in your skin, one senses heat, one senses cold, one senses pressure, and the last one senses pain.
Your body has special locations for sensing specific things. There are areas that are sensitive to heat, pain, and texture, such as your fingertips. There are areas that sense pleasure or tickling as well; ever have someone tickle you in a certain area? That is because there is a surplus of nerve endings in that spot. The most sensitive areas on your body are your hands, lips, face, neck, tongue, fingertips, and feet.
There is a way of communicating through touch as well, and even a language, called brail. Brail is basically a series of bumbs on a surface, and a certain amount of bumbs would mean a letter, word, or phrase.
