Mental Illness: Early-Life Depression and Anxiety Changes Structure of Developing Brain
One in 17 Americans suffer from a serious mental illness, such as schizophrenia, major depression, or bipolar disorder, making it one of the leading causes of disability. Yet science is only beginning to understand the underlying physical causes of these diseases. Schizophrenia is also another version of depression, depression is a mood disorder that frequently co-exists with schizophrenia and which also needs treatment. Feelings of depression and hopelessness are also common with caregivers of the mentally ill.First, depressive symptoms are associated with the onset of schizophrenia. Many people who go on to develop schizophrenia experience depressive symptoms up to four years before they are diagnosed with schizophrenia. After the initial symptoms of depression, people with schizophrenia often become less interested in interacting with others. Hearing voices and seeing things that aren't actually there tend to occur last. Having both Schizophrenia and Depression are like the same problems, if you have Depression as a young child you might occur some Schizophrenia issues...Not for sure though, because not all people that suffer from depression can get a mental desiese from being depressed.
