Do you know how the sound is made or where it comes from? There is this thing called a voice box (or the
larynx) that creates sound. This is where voice comes from. So the vocal cords (or vocal folds) are membranes that open and close while singing, breathing and talking. When air pressure builds up against them, the folds snap together and a sound is created. When they are snapped gently closed you hear a soft sound, but when they are snap forcefully you hear a loud sound. The faster they open and close the higher the sound. I love to sing and now I know how the sound is made!
