digestion

Digestion is first started by consuming food or a.k.a mastication. Then it is prepared for swallowing or a.k.a deglutition. But while it is still in the mouth it is made into smaller fragments by the enzyme that is in saliva. The saliva breaks downs, starches, and other complex carbs and turns them into small pieces with less complex sugar molecules. After everything is broken up the tongue pushes the chewed food down the throat or a.k.a esophagus to go down into the stomach where it will be broken down even more. You can not control what happens to the food after it is chewed.
