Cartilage

Cartilage is made of collagen and elastin fibers inside a rubbery substance. There are three types of cartilage. the first is Hyaline cartilage. Hyaline cartilage is the weakest and most abundant type. It is found on the ends of longs bones. Its structure is similar to the ear and nose. The seconed is Elastic cartilage. Elastic cartilage helps to keep the shape. It has branches of elastic fibers that way you can tell the difference betweeen elastic and hyaline cartilage. The last type of cartilage is Fibrous Cartilage or also called fibrocartilage. It is the stongest one of the three. It is dense collagen and not very much matrix. Its found in the pelvis, skull, and the vertebral discs in your body. Most cartilage is surround by a membrane of connective tissues. Cartilage itself does not have any blood vesels or nerves.
