Title: Vocal Cords and Singing-How Are They Related
Summary:
Our vocal cord are equally important as correct breathing when it comes to singing. Even if we have a strong diaphragm, without our vocal cords we have no voice. Our vocal cords are located in what we call a "voice box" (also called the adams apple). These cords make sounds through rapid vibration with the passage of air between the set of cords. The air passes through the cords, and forces them apart, then the cords immediately close back. This created multiple vibrations at a certain frequency, and creates the sound of our voice. Another thing that most people don't know is that these cord muscles can control our breathing as well. Our cords can control our breath by shutting completely and not letting any air out of the body. This is beneficial to me because I love to sing and to know how this works is very interesting.
