Crocodile vs. lawn mower

Elvis, an Australian crocodile, became enraged by a noisy lawnmower
and attacked the machine, pulling it away from the worker and dragging
it to the bottom of his pool. He then guarded it for over an hour. Elvis
is a 50 year old, 16 foot long crocodile living at the Australian Reptile Park
and is known for being cranky. He was finally lured away by a huge hunk
of kangaroo meat while one of the keepers retrieved the mower and two
of Elvis’ teeth that were pulled out when he clamped onto the mower.
The teeth are exceptionally long with the largest measuring 3.5 inches.
Elvis was captured in 2008 after he was climbing onto fishing boats.
At his first home, he ate two of his girlfriends. He is extremely territorial.
The keepers showed poor judgment entering the enclosure with Elvis
on the loose. Elvis is known for being cranky so it’s no surprise he attacked.
Animals in captivity are still wild and still exhibit their natural instincts
and behavior. The keepers were reminded of this and other zoos should take
note.
