Skin
The human skin is made up of many layers. The first layer is the epidermis. The epidermis has cells that make up the skin pgment. This thin layer is what is visible to the eye, and it is actually mad eup of three different sections. The first sections is the stratum corneum. The stratum corneum is the part of human skin that sheds. This layer also has protein keratin, that protects the epidermis from being harmed. The second part of the epidermis is the keratinocytes layer. The third part is the basal layer. The basal layer has basal cells, that create keratin for the two top layers to replace what is shed from the surface. Skin is meant to protect the rest of our body under it from damage. It is the largest organ in our body. It is mainly used to protect our bodies from light and heat damage, it also protects us from injuries and infections. It is the body's place where is can store water, fat, and vitamin D, and the main way the body takes in vitamin D from the sun. The skin also lets us to sense touch, and send information back to the brain to process. Which will then let the body determine what we need to do to protect ourselves from protection.
