Oscillating Gel Acts Like Artificial Skin

A team of Researchers from MIT and the University of Pittsburg found that “nonoscillating gel can be resuscitated in a fashion similar to a medical cardiopulmonary resuscitation” or it can be brought back in a way similar to CPR in non scientific speech. The gel may be able to be manipulated to respond to mechanical stimuli chemically. This is a natural phenomenon that few materials have been able to replicate. One of those materials is Belousov-Zhabotinsky (BZ) gel, a material that was first fabricated in the late 1990s and shown to pulsate in the absence of any external stimuli. In fact, under certain conditions, the gel sitting in a petri dish resembles a beating heart. This gel can be made into artificial skin that can send messages to a artificial brain just like real skin but with mechanics and chemicals; the researchers call it a “Holy Grail in Robotics.”
This could lead to more human like robots, TERMINATORS!! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!!!!
