lacrimal system

The 3 types of tears are, basal tears, reflexive tears, and psych tears. Basalt tears are produced frequently to keep our eye moist and keep things out that dont belong there. Reflexive tears are tears that are made in answer to things that irritate the eye. Like chopping onions or getting poked in the eye. Lastly, the psych tear is triggered when something emotional happens.
The lacrimal system is made up of a system that makes tears called the secretory system, and the excretory system which drains the tears. the lacrimal gland's mission if to produce emotional or reflexive tears. As they are produced, some of the fluid is evaporated between blinks, and some is drained through the lacrimal punctum. The tears that are drained through this are eventually drained through the nose (yuck!). So if there is any excess fluid that didn't drain through punctum, will fall from the eye, which produces the tears we cry.
