There are many different kinds of flowers. Many people enjoy getting or giving flowers to other people for their unique smell. Although flowers are pretty to look at and smell, there is a lot behind them. For flowers there is a male and female, like in humans.
Flowers all have Petals. They are colorful, and the bright part of the flower. They attract pollinators like bees and are the reason why we buy and enjoy flowers. Then the Sepal look like little green leaves that cover the outside of a flower bud to protect the flower before it opens.
The Stamen, and anther, it is the part where it gives pollen. Anther is the part of the stamen that makes and holds onto the pollen. It is usually on top of a long stalk that looks like a fine hair. Then also the filaments are all male parts of a flower.
Then the parts of a female part are different. The Pistil It is made up of the stigma, style, and ovary. Each pistil is made of one or more rolled leaf like structures. The Stigma It is the sticky bulb that you see in the center of the flowers, it is the part of the pistil of a flower which gets the pollen grains so they can reproduce. Style is the long stalk that the stigma sits on top of. The Ovary is the part of the plant that is at the bottom of the flower that has the seeds inside and turns into the fruit that we eat. The ovary contains ovules. Ovules are the seeds that come from it.
