summary

On June 30th 2011, at New York's John F Kennedy Airport runway 4 had been closed. Because 100 diamondback terrapins were blocking the runway. This wasn't the first time this has happend. In 2009, 78 turtles crawled out of the bay and on to the runway causing delays for up to 2 hours. But the 100 diamondback turtles had been safely moved, and the delays only lasted 30 minutes.

Humans should be more aware to their surroundings, when it comes to things such as building an airport. We need to consider if there are other living things such as turtles and other animals in their habitats. Or this could just make the turtles leave that area which could be hard for them. Which could affect the airport's flights incoming and outgoing. The turtles might have to find a new breeding ground that might not be familar to them.

This could change the way that the turtles have to breed. Because if they just keep going to the runways to breed, they are just going to get moved again. Or maybe the airport might have to put up a fence that would block the turtles from entering the runway. They could also close off the section of the airport, but its not very good to do such a thing for an airport's buisness. Either way is could affect the turtles or airport's buisness.
